Shell Studies

A recent trip to visit the West Coast of Florida gave me the opportunity to collect shells.  Lately, I have been enjoying an (almost) daily practice of drawing shells from life.  Like people, shells are unique, organic, and they adhere to a beautiful elegance that can only be found in nature.  Being able to sit down and draw a shell from life has become a lovely way for me to jump into drawing in a contemplative way before I get going on other art projects (or before I get going on house chores).
